I'm a slacker already!

I've only had this blog for 3 weeks and it's already been 2 weeks since I posted!! In my defence I think the people who write my off-duty are trying to kill me. I've just finished a run of 102 hours in 2 weeks, including 2 sets of nights. That's a lot of time in an A&E (ER)!!

Yesterday I went to a teddy bears picnic. I know....I'm 29, what was I doing at a teddy bears picnic....well....I was invited by Drew, Hannah and Marianne (who's 2 and therefore eligible to be there!!)....and....well....I went to the nursery where it was being held. I've been to several of these picnics before but that was more than 20 years ago! It was a fun time. Marianne thought it was great, she played on the climbing frame, watched the magician and loved running about in the woods. The whole site looked so much smaller than I remember....I know everyone says that when they go back to places they remember as children. I'm so glad that they still allow the kids to explore and play in the woods....I was worried that in these days of health and safety gone mad that they would have stopped them enjoying the wonders of nature! I shouldn't have worried....I was very much reassured that it's part of the curriculum!

Anyway I didn't take any photos yesterday so I can't share but I can share a couple of LO's from a trip to Wimpole Home Farm. Marianne, Hannah and I went there March 2010. These LO were part of a huge pile that I hadn't photographed and still haven't put into and album!

We went for the lambing weekend they have there. This LO is all the sheep we saw on the day. The one in the middle is a little boy lamb being castrated. They use tight rubber bands!! I made this with the February 2010 SC kit Baker's Dozen and the Scones add-on. I loved that kit!

This LO is of the pigs we saw. There were some very cute piglets there. It was made with the April 2009 SC kit Jack and Jill. I sometimes struggle with die-cut papers as they look so nice I don't want to cut into them. This LO was a easy way out, leave the die-cut in tact and embellish it!

Cute piggies!! TTFN. N x x

Sarah's Cards April 2011 sketch

Sarah's Cards Ltd have a monthly sketch challenge. This is April's sketch.

And this is mine. My friend Hannah and her daughter Marianne went out for coffee with me. Marianne had a huge milkshake and made quite a mess.

This LO was made with the Studio Calico December 2010 kit Metropolitan. I tried spraying the Maya mist in spots to journal on but it didn't work as cleanly as I wanted. I'll have to try again.

Love that bee! TTFN. N x x

I'm not ashamed to admit it....

.............I watched the royal wedding. I totally enjoyed it too.

Post nights sleepy!

I hate how sleepy nights make me. Even if I have good sleep after nights, the constant switching makes me confused! Anyway I dragged myself out of bed after 4 hours of sleep in an attempt to get back to doing days on Saturday again! It was made easier than usual by the fact that I went to see Thor with my friend this afternoon. My friend Drew introduced me to Marvel Comic movies and I am hooked. I'm looking forward to Green Lantern, Captain America and the Avengers. I totally enjoyed Thor. We had to see it in 3D and I'm not sure that it added much for me but I loved it for the space pictures during the credits. It had a wonderful instrumental soundtrack by Patrick Doyle and of course plenty of action.

I ordered my ticket to the US yesterday. I'm going back to visit my friends in St Charles, IL. I'm so excited that I get to go back for 3 weeks. In honour of that I'm going to share a LO of my friends. They really are like a second family. I get told to go get my sisters into the car whilst I'm there!

I love them! TTFN. N x x

New blog...

So I decided to start all over again with the blog. It had been two years since I posed on the other one and I wanted a fresh start.

I had the day off today but Kizzy (my cat) was a bit sick today so I stayed home. This was mainly because she is fussy when it comes to water! She pretty much only drinks from the tap. If she drinks from the bowl it's by putting her paw in and licking it off. She drags the bowl across the floor when she does this, spills it and makes a big noise! But today we just did the tap.

I've been naughty with my LO's recently. They've just been shoved under the desk, on the keyboard tray, in a huge pile! I've not been photographing them either. So today I took the whole pile and photographed them. It took me 45 mins, then the same again at least to crop them and then the same again to resize them for uploading to online galleries!

Because of that time spent earlier I can share a LO with you. In honour of Kizzy and her water idiosyncrasies I'll share this one with you. It's from a SC sketch a while back and is actually one of my favourites at the moment. It was made with Metropolitan, the SC December kit.

Isn't she cute! TTFN. N x x
